Oil Studies by John Murray
born in 1960
John Murray is one of the founders of the Bridgeview School. He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and subsequently at the John Michael Angel Atelier in Florence, Italy. Currently, he is a painting and drawing instructor at the Corcoran School of Arts in Washington DC. He is represented by Century gallery of Alexandria, Virginia and Newman Gallery of Philadelphia. He is a first place winner of the Pennsylvania Academy Alumni Award in 2001. In 2006, he received a commission by the Georgetown University in Washington to paint 4 murals with 16 saints for the Jesuit Chapel of Georgetown University.
