Georgy Gelashvili began his studies at Bridgeview in 2003 at the age of 9. He continued his art classes all the way through high school. Georgy attended the prestigious Stuyvesant High School. He completed his art studies only when his family moved from New York City to Albany.

His instructors at Bridgeview were Polina Osnachuk (earlier years) and Galina Dubinskaya. He joined Galina Dubinskaya's group for especially talented students on a full scholarship provided by the London-based Himmelstrasse Foundation. The Himmelstrasse Foundation was created by Steven and Elena Heinz who also own some of Georgy's work in their private collection.
