This program is based on the centuries-old techniques developed by generations of European masters. These techniques were painstakingly preserved at the Russian Academy of Fine Arts, which is the alma mater for most of the Bridgeview teachers. Almost everyone of them can trace his or her lineage directly to one of the greatest 19th century artists including French sculptors Rodin and Bourdelle, Swedish painter Zorn and Russian painters Repin, Surikov and Serov. The school founders are contemporary artists, who live and work in America. Their academic training has helped them to find their own voice. Bridgeview founders do not consider realism as the only way of artistic expression. Rather, they think of it as the best environment for learning the conceptual and technical aspects of fine arts. Located in Long Island City (Queens), which is an emerging art center of New York and a new home to the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA Queens), Bridgeview is in the midst of cultural renewal. Its other neighbors include PS 1 Contemporary Art Center, the Noguchi Museum, and the Sculpture Center, just to name a few. On the other hand, we are only one subway stop from Manhattan, the most vibrant art community in the world. "I know what rigorous training there was at the Russian academies and I applaud your efforts to bring it to America". Greg Hedberg. Director of European Art at Hirshl and Adler Gallery, New York and former Director of the New York Academy of Art. "Thanks again for this school. All the instructors that Jessie has had have been enormously helpful to her. She would not be at the stage she is now without them. It has not been the art instruction alone that has contributed so much, but the people themselves and the genuine interest each of them has shown in her. It has been a privilege to work with them". Carole Shasha, Greenwich, CT (mother of student Jessica Shasha, age 16) We congratulate Jessica Shasha! Jessica has been accepted to the Art Institute of Boston where she will begin her studies this fall. Jessica studied at Bridgeview with Samuel Kudish, Leonid Brener, Victor Kirillov and Polina Osnachuk. Classes for
Adults. Classes for Children and Youth. Portfolio Preparation
