Why Take College Portfolio Class and Why at Bridgeview
Competition for Enrollment and Scholarships
Depending on where you want to apply, you will be competing with hundreds and may be thousands of talented young people. Some colleges are easier to get into than others, but they all cost a lot of money. Art programs range between twenty and forty thousand dollars a year.
If you have a strong portfolio, you are not only guaranteed to get into the best art program of your choice, but you may get a substantial and even a full scholarship.
And once you get into college, it will be much easier for you to complete assignments and maintain good grades. And good grades translate into merit scholarships and awards.
Learn from practicing artists in small groups of peers
We have outstanding classically-trained teachers who are virtuosos when it comes to drawing and painting. They are versatile in a variety of media and are very knowledgeable in art history. They are all practicing contemporary artists, so in addition to teaching technical skills, they can guide you in finding your own voice and style.
Our classes are small, groups are limited to 13 students, so you get a lot of attention. Atmosphere is serious but not intimidating. Fees are very reasonable, as low as $12 an hour.
