Please note that for these ages the groups are very small. We only take 6 students per group as they require much more attention from the teacher than groups for older ages. Students work both from observation and imagination learning classical concepts and techniques of painting and drawing. Materials may include pencil, markers, pastels, acrylic paints and pen and ink. This is the age when they are starting to transition from flat depiction of objects to more dimensional work. Perspective, tone, design elements, color harmony and volume will be explored. At Bridgeview we also introduce kids to art history as they make creatively and artistically interpret famous works by Old Masters such as Van Gogh, Monet, Greek and Egyptian Art and many other great artistic schools and traditions. Students draw and paint still life setups and also copy from the Old Masters. Sculpting and working in clay is also part of this program. Kids may draw and sculpt people and animals.
Tuition: $650 for 12 weeks of classes including all professional-grade materials.
