Age (13 - 17)

Drawing, Painting, Composition. Classical Approach

Starting at the age of 12-13 students are transitioning to their teenage years. At this point they should be fully capable of understanding such complicated but fundamental ideas as three-dimensional form, linear and aerial (atmospheric) perspective, proportions, movement and gesture, design and rhythm, color theory. They work in a variety of media such as pencil, charcoal, pastels and acrylics tackling still life, portrait and landscape. Old Master copies are also practiced as a learning method behind both techniques and philosophies of painting.
